Bat Plaque

Description

During the Middle Ages, it was believed that bats spread disease.  This is most likely because of the bats’ similarity to the rat, which was usually blamed for the spread of the plague.  Because many people believed in witchcraft during this time, the bat was associated with witches, dark magic, sorcery, and even talking to the dead.  A lot of people adore bats and some are highly protected around the world.  They have an extremely nifty navigational system.  They eat mosquitoes and help pollinate hundreds of species of flowering plants and fruit.
